nOTICING WALK
time required: 10+ minutes
materials: journal & camera (both optional)
benefits: heightens sensory awareness, increases mindfulness, improves focus and attention, stimulates perception and memory, awakens curiosity
Wake up your creativity by taking a noticing walk. Slow down and take time to notice the shapes and textures that you see. What are you intuitively drawn to? How would you describe them? Are they straight or curvy, hard or soft, natural or man-made. What do you hear? Try and isolate a sound in the distance and pay attention to it. Notice how many different sounds there are. Do you feel the wind on your skin? are you hot or cold? Reach out and touch the rough bark of a tree , the smoothness of a leaf , and textures of things you come across. There is no right or wrong - the purpose is to pay attention to your senses and listen to your internal voice. Record observations in your journal or take pictures of what stands out for you. You can refer to them later in this PATHWAY for inspiration.
